WSFR Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

WSFR’s staff and board of directors take being entrusted with the taxpayer money we collect to operate seriously. We strive to provide the highest levels of service to our citizens in the most fiscally responsible manner possible. Each year, we have a third-party firm complete a comprehensive audit of our budgeting and accounting practices.
The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to WSFR for our annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024.
The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025 has been submitted to the GFOA for review, and certification is expected to be received in 2027.
