On May 12, 1902, the Windsor Fire Department was organized for the protection of the property within the Town of Windsor. We started out with just 550 feet of hose, a nozzle, a couple of axes, and buckets. Today, Windsor Severance Fire Rescue proudly serves 100 square miles in Larimer and Weld Counties, encompassing the communities of Windsor and Severance. We operate four fire stations that are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly trained and dedicated firefighters. We invite you to explore the rich history of Windsor Severance Fire Rescue at our fire museum, one of only a few in the state, where you can learn more about our journey and dedication to the community.

At Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, our commitment to the community goes far beyond responding to emergencies. We actively engage with residents through educational programs, safety demonstrations, and local events. Whether it's visiting schools to teach children about fire safety, organizing CPR training sessions, hosting an annual open house, or participating in community parades and events, we strive to build strong, trusting relationships with the people we serve.

Our core values of Readiness, Excellence, Courage, and Respect guide our work:

  • Readiness: We will anticipate the needs of our community through preparedness, education, and continual improvement.
  • Excellence: We will pursue mastery of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Courage: We will display the mental strength and moral character to do what is right, even in the presence of personal and professional adversity.
  • Respect: We will serve our community and each other with dignity, integrity, appreciation, and kindness while valuing the diversity and efforts of all.

On this website, you’ll find valuable information about our department, including details on our services, safety tips, and ways to get involved. Your participation is crucial to our mission, and we strive to be transparent and informative to address your needs. We hope this site will serve as a helpful resource for all your fire and emergency needs.

We encourage you to explore our pages and learn more about the men and women who proudly serve you daily. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your safety is our top priority, and we are here to help however we can.

Thank you for visiting our site and your continued support of our fire district.
